WebCliff Nobles ' The Horse is one of the greatest instrumentals of all time. I grew in the 60's and 70's and never really appreciated this song until I became an adult. The music has an upbeat tempo, but it's the horns that create the magic.The song is less than 3 minutes long, which is the only negative to it. Still, 5 stars for this classic! Although Nobles is the title artist, he does not personally perform on the track. The song was simply "Love Is All Right" without his vocal track. The horn section which is featured eventually became the group MFSB. Mike Terry played the baritone saxophone on this recording. The track itself features a simple, unvarying rhythmic line played by different instruments, finished off each time around by a melodic, heralding horn section line.
